Work That Scar Tissue Baby

Updated: Apr 11, 2019

Scar tissue is an issue for women who have had any kind of abdominal surgery, especially a cesarean section. The body is a remarkable healing organism and scar tissue is the body's way of healing the body quickly. It is supposed to be a temporary growth in the body, but for many people, #scartissue remains long after a surgery or injury has taken place.

Scar tissue is less flexible than regular tissue. It is a fibrous band that connects two parts of the body together. Therefore, scar tissue can cause #adhesions in the skin, the connective tissue, the muscle and in the organs. It can cause parts of the body that were not meant to be joined together to actually join. For example, skin is often joined to connective tissue, muscles and connective tissue are joined and after a cesarean, in extreme cases, the bladder can adhese on to the uterus, restricting the mobility and function of both organs. All of these scenarios can cause pain, discomfort and dysfunction.

You can see in the above photo how the skin is pulled in towards the body. Doing scar work will release this scar tissue and change the appearance and feel of this area of the body.

Regardless of whether or not you are thinking about having another baby after a c/section (#VBAC), it would be a really good idea to do some scar work on your incision area. Scar tissue can have long term effects on you that could interfere with your normal life.

I have included a few videos that show how to do it.

If you are not pregnant, I highly recommend that you also do #CastorOilPacks in addition to the scar work. Castor oil packs reduce inflammation, improve lymphatic circulation, and improve overall circulation. You simply rub castor oil onto the area you are trying to release and put heat on it. Some people like to cover the castor oil with a cloth or saran wrap (it can be a little messy). You can use a hot water bottle or I like to use what I lovingly refer to as my chicken light. It is a near #InfaredLight bulb used to keep baby chicks warm after they have hatched. Its heat is deeply penetrative and will help the castor oil reach more deeply into your body. However, be very cautious using castor oil during pregnancy. It can cause you to go into labor.

If you are interested in having scar work done in Austin, there are a number of people who can help you. And of course, I would be happy to schedule some time with you or point you towards someone who can help. Please consider doing this ESPECIALLY if you plan on having another baby.

Peaceful birthing to you all.....
